Hi. I’m James. Thanks for checking out my blog!

I am a pastor in Prattville, Alabama. I’m husband to Trish, father to Caleb and Joshua, father-in-law to Kayla, and Papa Jam to Jordan, born 12/07/21.

I read a lot, walk my dog every day,  and drink lots of coffee. When it’s warm enough, I ride my bicycle to and from the office.

I do a lot of free lance writing as well, mostly for LifeWay Christian Resources. I’ve written for Bible Studies for Life, Explore the Bible, The Gospel Project, and Open Windows.

During the summer, I preach a couple weeks of LifeWay’s Kids Camp, CentriKid.

I’m passionate about caring for orphans. I’ve been blessed to partner with RiceBowls.org, a ministry that provides food to faith-based orphanages around the world. A portion of every donation to this blog goes to support Rice Bowls. Click Here to Give

I believe I’ve got three callings from God in my life: to be surrendered to Christ; to be a faithful husband, and to be a loving dad/grandfather. Everything else is an assignment, because everything else can be done by someone else.

    I Praise God for all the good resources out there – but I call your blog a blessing because it has helped me in my journey. This is my 2nd time around with the Bible Recap – and adding your blog to my reading routine has been amazing. Blessings to you and your family as you continue serving Gods people.
