Keeps you guessing almost until the very end. I love the literary device of the unreliable narrator, and it is used masterfully here. I also love how skillfully the author takes the reader on the same journey the characters take— is this person a hero or a villain? Can I trust them or can I not?
My one problem with the book is that once the villain is revealed, it becomes a little unbelievable, as the character drones on and on about why the character was driven to act the way he or she did. It is a great character study in destructive narcissism, but the action itself doesn’t ring true.
